Beneveda Medical Group combines Western Medical experience with Chinese Medicine and "Energy Medicine" principles in their new revolutionary medical practice.

Not content with a career as one of the U.S.’s leading pediatric surgeons, Dr. Thom E. Lobe MD, NMD, decided it was time the practice of medicine—and how we view it—change. The result is Beneveda Medical Group in Beverly Hills, California, beneveda.com, where Lobe likes to say, “We treat the whole person, the root of the problem, not the symptoms.”

Reading Your Energy

In Lobe’s opinion, treating the whole person begins with approaching each illness or medical condition from an energy perspective. He calls it “Energy Medicine,” and employs nascent technology to diagnose and treat patients based upon evaluation of their body’s energy.

The whole process begins with Lobe and his staff of MDs and medical professionals performing an energy reading. While it may sound suspect, it is a highly nuanced process that allows the doctors a look inside the body much like an MRI would -- only far less complicated a process. By placing all ten fingertips on a small, glass-top device, multiple images are generated. Doctors see a 3-D look at the energy field around each organ as well as the whole body.

Physiology and Psychology Intertwined

Where an energy read excels is in its ability to transmit data to the doctors on both physiological and psychological levels. Not only is it possible to view specific problems and areas of concern in the body—and areas that bear watching—it is also possible to see various issues that affect the body from a psychological standpoint. Beneveda’s “Signature Evaluation” is then performed—a patient history combined with conventional and Chinese Medicine, examinations along with other tests deemed necessary—to determine the course of treatment.

“We treat many patients with chronic illnesses, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, osteoporosis, arthritis, for instance, as well as major life threatening ones,” says Lobe. “This being California, where people are outdoors exercising, we also see quite a few sports-related injuries.”

Sports Injuries Heal Fast

For those with torn muscles and the like, one of the first courses of action is Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field (PEMF) therapy. “A small cord is placed around the injured area that ‘pulses,’” explains Sarah Tinsley, Beneveda’s Director of Operations. “PEMF therapy heals and regenerates damaged tissue and also enhances cellular protein synthesis. Circulation around the injured area improves which gets the energy moving freely once again.”

Tinsley recalls a recent visit by a swimmer with impinged shoulder syndrome. “He’d had residual pain for three months since the time of the injury and after one ten-minute session the pain was nearly completely dissipated.”

Tinsely, Lobe and the rest of the Beneveda staff know that Energy Medicine might initially leave people dubious “but again,” says Lobe, “the proof is in the outcome. I’ve been practicing medicine for over 30 years and to me, this is the most complete approach to healing and wellness that exists.”
