Making a Flower Essence Spray BottleVibrational Essences in a Spray: A Convenient Way to Clear the Room
Essence sprays are a growing trend among manufacturers and consumers alike. Find out here why and how to use them, and how to make them at home.
Essence sprays are diluted vibrational or flower essences (such as the Bach Flower Remedies or any others) in a pump spray bottle. “…[E]ssence sprays are devised to assist with cleansing the room of unwanted and stale energy patterns,” says the website for Light Spirit Essences. “If the rooms that you occupy are harmonized and cleansed, the people living or working in that room will feel that they can work better, that they feel clearer and happier.” Flower essence sprays, which contain only the energy of the plant they’re made from and are unscented and unflavored, often contain some essential oils as well, giving them an added healing dimension. Such sprays require a vigorous and frequent shaking before use. How to Make and Use an Essence SprayFirst, be sure to use a clean spray bottle -- though many prefer dark glass, clear plastic works, too. The sprayer can be anywhere from 4-8 oz in total volume – whatever is convenient and comfortable in the hand. Here is a popular dilution recommended by the World Wide Essence Society: 10-20 drops of each essence to 8 oz of water (preferably spring or filtered water). There are many ways a spray can be used. Pulling Down the Moon, a Chicago integrative facility for fertility, suggests using essence sprays after a yoga practice, at the start of meditation, or to “break off negative thought patterns and help settle and ground our attention in the moment.” These sprays can be used to mist a room, clothing, bed sheets, plants, one’s hair, etc. Essences misted in the air have the potential to affect every living being in the room. Use the spray as often as you like, discarding it within two weeks of making it as it does not contain any preservatives. Essence sprays can address a variety of specific challenges. For example, a blend to help with a good night's sleep can be made (vary the blend depending upon the particular needs present at the moment). Lightly spray the sheets and the air around the bed just before sleep time. Or -- speaking of sheets -- before a massage, spray the drape cloth with a mixture focused on relaxation. Taming Workplace TensionSome more ideas? An essence spray can be used at the office or in a conference room before meetings to help set the tone for the event, or afterwards to clear out the energy left behind. Have something difficult to say? Mist the room with an essence mixture to increase everyone's ability to listen, speak from the heart, and to feel safe. Or, before the start of the morning commute, spray the car's interior with whatever the driver is needing at the moment. For Personal Use, Spray Around the AuraLight Spirit Essences describe the aura as “…the personal space surrounding your physical form,” and reminds users that the aura is also affected by and affects other people's thoughts and feelings and by the whole environment that the person is residing in. Therefore, the essence spray can also be helpful when sprayed around the physical body. The many changes possible when using flower essence sprays on a regular basis in this way are very much individual, but release of tension is one of the most common. “When misted about the head and body…flower essence sprays invite you to take a deep breath,” says the website for Flower Essence Energy. “The flower oils arouse olfactory and skin sensations. The essences uplift your energy. You experience a sense of wellbeing and calm. You can choose to respond rather than react... to live in the moment.” Related Articles and WebsitesStock Versus Dosage Strength Flower Essences
