By understanding basic scientific concepts about energy, we can begin to understand how we can heal our bodies through our energy system via sounds and colour.
By discovering the innate substance of what we perceive as matter and applying these theories to the human body and our personal experience, we can conceptualise how our chakra system works. This is the first article in a comprehensive series, giving fundamental, inclusive theory and background information about the seven main energy centres in the human body. The Human Form and EnergyThe human body, and all things on the material plane, are made up of atoms. Atoms are microscopic particles. Itzhak Bentov, in his readable explanation about how energy works in Stalking the Wild Pendulum, writes that when scientists try to look at an atom, they find, ‘vast empty space filled with oscillating fields’. Atoms are held together in a variety of different ways, and as a group (molecule), they respond to different vibrations. What is the Importance of Understanding Vibration?Vibration is oscillation. Depending on the speed of oscillation, or the vibration frequency of energy, the human body perceives different phenomena. Our human reality is, in essence, differences in vibration. For example, what we see as the different colours of the rainbow are light waves moving at different frequencies. Our human eyes, via the three differently shaped cones we have in our retina, detect red, blue and yellow, and all combinations of these three. In fact, all of what we perceive and don’t perceive are interactions of different types of energy. We see light and we hear noise because our body has intelligently created receptors to some vibrational frequencies. However, our body can not detect other types of energy vibration as easily as we can hear when a car is driving past, or see the car’s head lights at night. Energy and the Human BodyFrom a western point of view, human energy is created by what we consume by way of food and drink. What we eat is converted by the body into energy. Excess energy is turned into reserves of fat. The ‘best’ energy (the types of food to eat) for humans is often highly debated depending on recent studies and changing fads in popular and media orientated groups. However, its not that simple. We have all experienced increased energy from hearing a particular song, or a moving speech or our favourite team winning a grand final. Our energy has been zapped by a needy friend. Therefore ‘energy’, in this context, becomes linked to external input into the human system, and internal interpretation. That is, we put a high emotional value (interpretation) to our team winning the grand final (external input), and our interpretation increases our feelings of euphoria. Energy, as we see, is also something that can be produced from our thoughts, ideas and most importantly, emotions.
